How to Raise an Emotionally Intelligent Child

Presented by Dr. Laura Markham
Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 | 2:00pm - 3:45pm EST

In this session, participants will explore what research says about how children develop Emotional Intelligence. They'll evaluate why EQ is more to a child's success in life than IQ and uncover secrets every parent needs to know about crying and anger. By better understanding Emotional Intelligence, parents can help their children grow a calmer nervous system, allowing them to better manage their own emotions and behavior.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Recall how children develop Emotional Intelligence and the research to support this.

  2. Demonstrate an informed approach to better handling crying and anger.

  3. Support their children to better manage their own emotions and behaviour through an enhanced understanding of Emotional Intelligence.
